Trash pullout and drawer under sink finally installed

Sometimes it's the little things, folks. This totally made my week. Special thanks to Lisa_a, because I totally stole this idea from her kitchen.

After 3 months of tripping over trash cans in the kitchen I am so glad to have this done!

I know there are lots of questions on here about making under-the -sink trash pullouts work so here are the details.

My cabinets are standard 34.5" height and I have an Elkay Crosstown sink that has a right hand drain and is 9" deep under mounted in 3cm granite. The disposal is an Insinkerator Evolution Compact. The standard would have fit but wouldn't have left much room in the drawer under it. My cabinet maker is now stocking both the drawer and the pullout so he can sell this same setup again and again :) The pullout is this Rev-a-shelf unit: https://www.rev-a-shelf.com/p-520-double-undermount-soft-close-waste-container-waste-containers.aspx

Carolyn, I could be wrong, but if each bowl has a drain that is offset and depending on how they are offset (in the middle, in the back, corners) you should be able to fit at least one full length pull-out, or maybe 2 shallow (like the wooden one above). It will depend on how much space you have and will likely take some cooperation from your installer about how he orients the drain pipes.

You can probably find pics of someone who has done it with a double bowl.

Scout, yes it's these small things that really make the kitchen! I also have under sink pullouts, thanks to GW and urge others to take advantage of this space rather than waste a cabinet.

Yay! It's silly (but I know you'll all understand) but I'm always showing off my garbage pull-out to guests.

You reminded me that I forgot to mention that my garbage disposal is also the compact one, same as you. That does make a difference.

Very nice! Can you share a pic of the sink or the model number?

Also is this a standard 36" wide sink base?

whaas_5a I would be happy to share a picture of the sink. It's the Elkay model number ECTRU30179R.

It is in a standard 36" wide base cabinet. I was initially worried that it was "only" 31.5" wide and I wanted the widest sink I could fit in the cabinet but honestly it is plenty big! I should also mention that we were on a really tight budget for this remodel so I was looking for an affordable sink as well. It's a massive improvement over the double cast iron sink I had before. It has some scratches already but it doesn't bother me. There is a grid available for it and I may buy it.

Will this scenario only work if you have a single bowl sink? --because then you only need drain on one side?

I have a low divide double bowl sink with two drains & have a drawer similar to Scoutfinch72. My cabinet installer ordered a drawer & then rebuilt it to accomodate the garbage disposal & plumbing. I should have taken pictures of the drawer when it was empty but here it is, chocked full of stuff.
