I've never seen one with holes that small Shee. I think Chick may have it figured out.

My grandmother had a pot like that planted with hens and chicks (succulents).

But I actually think that's plenty of room to plant herbs (assuming you meant 7 or 8 inches rather than 7 eighths of an inch, as I read it initially). Lemon thyme (or other low-growing varieties), or chives, or Italian parley, or cilantro. Sage or rosemary would be too big for the side holes.

Without a drain hole, I doubt it's a pot for any of the plants mentioned, which all need good drainage. I wonder if it's a garlic keeper missing its lid. Looks like it has a ridge for one.

I was going to say succulents too as I have several varieties planted in a strawberry pot that is much taller. But your pot is much different. I think it's obviously meant for something short like crocus that will grow out & upright. Very pretty!

So it is! Never heard of a crocus pot. Now that you think about it, it makes sense with the windmill design.

I think it's too late to plant bulbs. I remember something about refrigerating them for six weeks if you can't plant outdoors. Mine will start blooming in a few weeks with our mild winters.

I have that same pot! Yes, it's for forcing bulbs in the winter. I've had great luck with it. I hope you enjoy yours and find a suitable use for it.

I'll have to try and force some bulbs. My paperwhite project.....all I can say is none of mine turned out like magazine photos! Succulents sound like less work, but I think they might be too large for those holes.
