Need to decide on this chandelier

I want to get a crystal chandelier for my living room. It's 4" high and 36" wide and has Chrome finish. The rest of the lighting in the house has a darker bronze finish. I don't want to replace all the lighting. i also want to replace 2 pendants in the kitchen, and probably over kitchen table while im at it. Does the lighting need to have same finish? Will this work somehow? (also just ordered new area rug, work in process)

Sorry Silver Moon, raw silk has no shine at all. Many people confuse Dupioni silk for raw silk. Dupioni has a gorgeous sheen and you can often find it in an iridescent, meaning the warp is one color and the weft is a different color. The color will change slightly as the fabric is turned.

If the chandelier you posted is what you are talking about, I love it! I think it will go well with your living room. The pendant lights look rather dull to be honest. I would go with some color and a bit larger as well. Definently get a nice rug with an interesting pattern and some color too. There are a lot of neutrals in your room so nothing is standing out. I would go with a fabulous painting on the wall as well.

Yes...you can mix finishes. The chandelier is great and works well with the pendants..if possible I would change the pendants. They are not important and are a bit small for the space. If you do keep them you might want to lower them.

Here is your selection in the room. I love the restraint in your room and wonder if the alternate glass 'Bling' chandelier which is shown below, also restrained, is a better fit for your room?

Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions. I'm thinking the chandelier will not look so 'blue' when I actually put it up. Adding some warm lights.

with the chandelier, I want to put a mirror above fireplace(or pic of white horse or something not so drastic, softer) . I also want to remove shelves next to TV and put a tall mirror there or something? I am not able to center in the room. Also was thinking of these pendants from restoration hardware...

my new area rug is a neutral color with grey, and is 100% viscose so is also silky. (Cream with charcoal , 9 x 12)

i want to hang the chandelier lower over the coffee table.

and lastly love the idea of adding pillows with texture and silky to tie it in. Probably pick some greys and neutrals.

When you said you wanted to add a mirror above the fireplace, this is what I thought of - two pics of same mirror.

Google "brutalist starburst mirror". Would look perfect in this room.
