No you don’t need to go Kitchen-aid that is the advantage to stainless you can go with any maker the big deciding factor will be the space that it has to go in. From what I can see you have no air space around the fridge and unless you geta fridge that is made to be built-in you will always have problems with the fridge not lasting they need air space and in the manual you will find the amount each fridge needs.

Thank you for your assistance. The refrigerator came with the house during our purchase. And, this is the first time that I have started shopping for a refrigerator for this home. It is an older home. The prior homeowner did tons of updates. I just want to make the right decision for the space. With all of the KitchenAid appliances right there together, and the microwave in extremely close range, I did not know which avenue would be the best route. I have read thousands of reviews regarding refrigerators this week.

Stainless steel looks pretty much the same no matter the manufacturer, so I wouldn't worry about needing to go with KitchenAid. Find a brand that fits the space, meets your needs, and has enough air space to function correctly.

Absolutely not! However, you are limited to what will fit in the space. It may come down to practically unless you are willing to do modifications to the kitchen.

If you're willing to remove the two cabinets above the refrigerator you could go with something like a SubZero built in....would give you room for the compressor on top. But depends on the available space, I think our new SZ needed 84 inches of height.
