My ultimate though was to have a nicer floor lamp to sit behind the recliner (probably a purchase down the road) and a table lamp on the table next to the recliner. Would that work?

If you have a floor lamp behind recliner, then I would put the table lamp on a new rd table on left end of sofa. You don't need 2 lamps so close together. For now I would get a lamp for the new rd table and put your current floor lamp behind the recliner until you can replace it.

Do the "sit" test with a new lamp by sofa to make sure that the bottom of shade is at eye level. Will that work for you? I would guess that the lamp should be about 30".

If we do that then all you will need to buy is a new rd end table and lamp. In keeping your shorter end table and the coffee table, not quite such a big bite out of the budget.

Yep! I put the current lamp behind the chair already which is what has me thinking that I like that idea! This is also why I want a smaller table next to the chair since it won't have a lamp on it

I like the tables you have posted! For some reason though, I just like the look of a round table next to the chair and square next to the couch. Strange? Maybe :) This is why I'm on the hunt for 2 tables - one smaller round for the chair and one bigger square for the couch.

OK, we need a small rd table 22" high and 18" dia for beside chair and a 24-26" high and at least 24" dia for end of sofa. You want them in espresso or dark brown.

I am not going to look for a lamp, unless you ask, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, or any of many places in the Seattle area will have lamps. Don't buy one until you get the table.

Yep! Home goods has a million lamps! I was hoping they had some good end tables, but nothing I liked. Maybe Ross or something?

I think probably 20"H on the table since that's about what the chair is in the middle. 24" H would be perfect for the sofa. I don't want it to be completely level with the arm.

i definitely need to be under $200 for both tables, and hopefully even less than that if possible. I've been looking, but again don't know how matchy they should be.

Hypothetically, If I decided at some point to do an ottoman instead of a coffee table, what color should that be? I'm not sure that I will, and it probably won't be in the immediate near future, but it's an idea from havingfun that I like.

I was thinking something either off-white (to match the back pillows of the couch) or like a beige that would match the colors of the throw pillows I have? I'm trying to think what would look good on top of that blue/grey rug.

I originally thought a bright color to have something "pop" like orange, but not sure that's really my style...think I want to keep it clean for the most part.

I got the rug! Is the positioning okay? It's basically dead center to the room...keep in mind the sofa is off-center and the TV stand is probably very close to center. Also, any tips on how to make the end not curl (from it being rolled up)?

Okay, so I have end tables now! I need a lamp and still heavily considering an ottoman instead of a coffee table. Any more suggestions for this now that I have everything else in? I was also thinking if I did a color completely different (taupe, orange, etc.) than the blue/grey scheme, I would try and get matching pillow covers for the two back cushions of the couch (that are different anyway) to tie it in??
