BlueStar Oven Noisy

I just got a new BlueStar range top (which I love) and wall oven (30" electric with french doors)... which I would like to love but from the moment you turn it on there is a very noisy blower which stays on (separate from the convection fan: tek support guy says this fan is to cool the cabinet and the electronics) and stays on until the unit is cool (about an hour after use).

The oven is in a new construction 3-shipping container project and the kitchen is in one end of a container and the dining room is the other end. The oven can't stay as is and BlueStar tek support doesn't recommend using fire retardant acoustic foam (which is anyhow toxic) even outside of the encasing 1/2" plywood cabinet.

Looking for experiences by others and for suggestions for hi-end ovens that do not have noise issues. Any thoughts?

Hi. Wondering if you ever solved your problem or got some advice. I have the same problem. I like the way the oven cooks but I have quit using it because the noise drives me crazy.

I can hear mine, but it's not particularly loud, no issues with having a conversation or anything. I think it has to do with how it's installed (e.g. the cabinetry surrounding it).

The higher end ovens have 2 fans instead of 1 and they are noisier than their single counterparts.

Thanks for the comments. I called Blue Star. They are going to try replacing the fan with a newer type. Despite hating the noise, I have to say that Blue Star is great for baking and I love the company’s responsiveness!!!

Hi, any updates?? I have a blue star electric double wall oven and it’s so loud from the second you ‘wake it up’! Did they ever come up with a quieter replacement fan??

I just contacted Bluestar and they said there is no quieter fan option. This would have been for an oven produced in 2016

eezlemon -- I believe a lot has to do with the installation and the acoustics of your kitchen. In our kitchen the oven is louder than the Miele dishwasher but not as loud as the Vent-A-Hood. You don't need to raise your voices to carry on a conversation.

We just got a Bluestar oven in December 2020. I agree it's very noisy - after I turn the oven off leave the door open for a bit the fan stays on until it's cooled to 200 so if you leave the door open this happens much faster. That said, the oven works fabulous. I also kind of don't mind the noisy fan because I never accidentally leave the oven on (which I have done on occasion)
