The countertop looks good with the beige tile and stone accents. I don't think a gray would have worked as well, especially with cabinet color.

I'm sorry it isn't what you envisaged. That said, I agree with above that it looks lovely. The wall colour needs changing out but that top looks lovely with the wood finish, the floor and the tile.

Yep...wall colour is highlighting the "lack of grey" in your slab. I too believe it looks very handsome with what you have...but it is NOT gray. And no, you should never judge a stone from a smart phone.

Try another paint colour (I would prime it white and then make some colour patches and live with the colours in the patches for a week or so). I think this is causing a colour clash which is making you more upset with the counter top than is comfortable for you.

The counters read olive and the walls read silver blue. Nasty clash. Nasty. Get rid of the clash and you will probably learn to like the counter.

Perhaps some Healing Aloe will make you feel better.

The countertop, tile and floor all work together. Change the paint color for a warmer feel.

We get many post asking for ideas to "warm up" a gray bathroom or kitchen - they copied a photo and it looks magazine good but lacks warmth. You will have a very lovely warm bathroom - it may be a good "mistake".

I have to agree with everyone above. I don't think a gray countertop would have worked nearly as well as this one. Your tiles and floor have warm tones and this counter complement them perfectly! I think this was a very lucky mistake! Beautiful bathroom!

And the designer who helped choose the tiles suggested Sherwin Williams Shoji White for the walls as another option.

Painting is a required homeowner skill imo, I never take any sample of anything off any screen. Always see the real article.

While the colors may not have been what you were hoping for, my eye is more drawn to the white-white grout. I would tint the grout back a few colors .. probably not gray, but I think it would pull together the warmth you have ended up with. And, you can always accessorize with gray :)

Yes - it's been a whole learning process and no matter how much browsing of Houzz and Pinterest, no matter how many paint samples I took and painted on sample boards, no matter how long I spent with the designer at the tile store, I still ended up with this mistake!!
Actually when the paint went up I was worried it didn't quite work - but it grew on me - until the countertop happened.
It's certainly easier to repaint than replace the counter - and not crazy expensive even if hiring a professional.
Still, this whole experience made me question all my design choices: the wall tile, the decorative tile, the floor...
Anyway - obviously I can't change any of that.
But I welcome any new suggestions for wall paint -

Sherwin Williams Shoji White
Any other ideas?

And now that I see Cindy Sherman's post I'm wondering how do you tint grout?

P.S. Technically it is an off white grout and, oddly, the wall tiles are named "super white"
But I feel better having all of these suggestions and ideas!

Oh please do not try to tint grout. Do exactly what Cancork Flooring suggested & learn how to paint. It will be the best talent to develop as a homeowner. Gray is going out as a color for walls anyway. It can be depressing.

I don't have a bm and sw color books handy, I think the tile and counter top come off as kind of earthy and warm and brown so the wall should be like that. I think you will get a second chance here, you are just one element away.

First of all, it's so fantastic to have people taking my design dilemma seriously and taking the time to offer suggestions.
Secondly, I am thinking that I am getting used to the quartz slab colors and I'm not as perplexed. I guess it helps that everyone said nice things about it - so thanks.
It will never be my favorite color but hey at least it "works".
And now - shocker - I'm thinking maybe the blue tone on the walls (SW tradewind) works because of the blue/grey tones in the floor tiles. Floor also has touches of brown tones but overall to me it's much more grey blue
So the question is- for all who are still paying attention - if I go with a creamy beige wall will I accidentally then make the floor seem out of place? Am I just driving myself crazy? Yes - I am
But anyway I'm going to attach pics one more time and I'll do it like a "tour" of the bathroom as you walk in, also the floor close up, the transition from floor to shower etc
The half wall will be glass on top.
I know we have a bit of an unusual layout.

It is hard to give color advice online because all screens show color differently. You might want to live with this color for a while before you make a decision. I think a cream color would look good. I also think a deeper Greige would look good. Here are a few examples form the Sherwin Williams app. The colors on this app don't completely cover up the existing color shown on your walls, but this might give you an idea.

The problem I have is not the quartz, but rather the cool gray wall color. Find a warm gray tone and it will all blend nicely.

I did a Sherwin Williams "read" on three of your pictures. This is what I got. It may give you a starting point, along with the colors I tried above, if you decide to change colors. Oh, and remember you can accessorize in many different colors to add your own personal touch. Good luck!

I am still voting for a warm tan - grab a sample from your ben moore store and put some Huntington Beige up on the walls next to your accent tiles.

To the best of my knowledge, the only way to change your way too white grout, is to scrape it out with a tool made for that, which is labor intensive but you could do it, and then reapply a top layer of a warmer grout tone.

I'm definitely holding on to all of your color suggestions in the creamy tan beige greige family.
(Sorry, I don't think the Healing Aloe would work - and I'm not so into greens I more like the grey blue family)
I do think the screen makes the wall color look more "silver blue" than it is in reality but like I said I've been a little unsure since the day it went up.
I had my friend (who has a great design sense) and she said the blue "works".
Still, I understand why mostly everyone is pointing me to a new paint color because it may make everything seem more cohesive and it's way more realistic than replacing the quartz!
I should be happy that everyone complimented the quartz and didn't shout "hideous! Change it no matter the cost!!" Although I was tempted...
It's funny but the "white" grout doesn't really bother me so much - it's not so harsh in person. Maybe I'm not so upset because it was a conscious decision (designer at tile store suggested a different tile color and I insisted on this for a silly reason - it's only one shade different than Designer's suggestion - but I guess it really stands out.)

I guess this is the difference between "real world home improvement" and the awesome pics on Houzz and Pinterest! Also the difference between having to do it on your own and having the benefit of a professional designer to help with all aspects - not just the free designer at the tile store! He was nice and patient but where was he when it was time to pick the quartz?!?!

Personally the grout doesn't bother me either. All that matters is that you are happy with your room. I think it's lovely and I would be proud if it were my bathroom! Enjoy!
