Quick improvements - lower the art to 5" above the sofa and get a rug for the breakfast table that is 4' wider and longer than the table top. I would prefer the larger sofa on the wall and the small one floating.That will keep your room from feeling blocked up. With the pillow back sofas, you don't need more, but fewer, pillows. Empty the yellow piece on the table and use it on the floor or on a sideboard if you have one. Paint is usually based on the colors in your fabrics and textiles, so you don't really have much color to work with in finding the right one. You need to go with colors from the art for both your pillows, accessories, and possibly paint. There seems to be some green at the bottom of the art, so that might be a starting place.

I just want to make sure that this room looks nice and welcoming,
It's too hard for me to choose and I'm always in need for opinions

1) The color of the wall looks good as it is though a lighter colour with yellowish tinge can make the room look more beautiful

2)In the first image change the cover of the pillow in the middle. The cover is not that good. It looks bit gaudy. The colour of other two pillows is better especially the one to the left.

3) But yes the dining table looks old fashioned and needs a serious renovation. a bigger one with more interesting chair design can be suitable.

I think you have a good start. I would be tempted to remove the rug under your table altogether and see how that looks. It looks like if you get a larger one to fit the table size it will be very close to your other rug. If you have the storage room, I think removing some of the things from your kitchen counters would make your room appear less busy.

Gosh...you have a lot of nice things. I think what is "off" is you need an accent color. How about gray, navy, coral color? I think the area rug under the dining table is too small and unnecessary. I love your rug in the living room but I think the art on the wall looks too generic. Having said that, I think minimal changes will make your space awesome! Add a hint of accent color and put an awesome conversation art piece and your space will be gorgeous. This photos doesn't 'do it' but shows how a bit of color will give the space some style.

Looks terrific! Just a couple of tweaks. The coffee table should be about 18 inches from the sofa. It looks a bit too far away. It could be just me, but the valances on the windows look dated. Just remove them and do no window treatments. Very cozy and lovely room! I like your new art choice very much.

Pretty lighting/chandelier also makes a huge difference in a space. Love your lamps but I must say an interesting chandelier above the table will make a big difference in the overall style. I'd rather see empty vases stand on their own than with faux fleurs, and no artificial greenery either. I still think you'll open your room if you'd move the large sofa to the large wall. Who sits in the little black chairs? They look very poorly proportioned for your sofas. I agree your valances and chandy need to go. What is that large dark item behind your TV, and is that a fireplace by the dining table?

The chairs are swivels

I'm referring to the black think with some art??? above it behind, not beside, the TV. I love using swivel chairs but they just seem so tiny. At first I only noticed one of them and assumed it was a kid's chair.

It's a window behind the tv and the chairs are smaller scale (called Irving made by pottery barn)

Ahh! Well, since TV in front of windows is a Houzzer "pet peeve," let's rethink all of it. TV goes on the big wall and big sofa turns to face it. You can put chairs at the window and loveseat on the kitchen side, or vice versa - your call. As for the scale of the chairs, they just look too short and petite, compared to the bulky presence of the puffy pillow back sofas. Personally, I'd rather have 4 chairs and eliminate the loveseat. Note how the backs of these four chairs visually match the height of the sofa back. They actually may be a tad higher than the sofa, but they have tight, flat upholstery and so their visual volume is equivalent to the sofa with pillow back and lots of throw pillows.

The picture above your love seat in the second set of photos looks fantastic.
