I have a Kohler Vox rectangular vessel sink, it was installed almost two years ago in our master bath. There is absolutely no reason for this think to have cracked almost in half. This is my sink, husband has his own, I have never dropped anything in it, I am extremely careful since out bathroom remodel was $45k, A handyman took a look at the crack, then got underneath the sink and took a photo of what looks like a small patch/swipe directly on the crack line. He said someone did this trying to prevent this crack from happening. Well it happened this week.

Question: Do you agree that this is a quick little patch attempt during installation with a sink that was faulty from the get go, or no?It looks like it to me, and makes sense, but welcome any professional opinions. Red arrow points to the patch. Thank you for any input you may have :)
