I really like the black shadow effect. It really makes them stand out.

I really love the shadow effect for t-shirt blocks! I'll have to remember that when I make one for DD.

Looks great! What sort of quilting are you planning?

I plan to SID around the shadows, small meander in the orange, and shadow stitch where needed on the tee-shirts. I want them to look like they are floating as much as possible, so there will be minimum quilting on them.

Really like the quilt. May have to add it to my list of quilts to make!

Sue, I'm not sure how grammyp did this one, but I was in a quilt store a couple of weeks ago where a guy was working on a quilt he called a shirt quilt. It had both dress shirts and tee shirts. He had put some iron on stabilizer on both.

He showed me his whole layout. It really surprised me, as he was young, black and seemed to be straight and he was making a quilt!

Sue, I did stabilize with Pellon 911ff. It makes them a bit stiff, but much easier to sew.

BK, there is no block as such. I cut the shirts, stabilized, added the "shadow" and played around till I found an arrangement I liked. This isn't the final version, just one of the trials.

Then I put them together in groups as columns, added a strip between the columns, then added borders.

Good looking quilt.

I have a friend that is in the talking stages of me making her a t shirt quilt from her running marathon's. I may have to "steal" your layout. I really like it!
