Acrylic peekabo coffee table maybe? Or 2 square wooden cubes. What type of floor seating?

It looks as though the rug is jammed up against the fireplace hearth. Can you pull it away from the fireplace any?

You do not have to use a glass top table, but the medallion is so beautiful, that would be ideal.

why does houzz keep distorting my images?

Here's it next to some of the cushions I have- this is still a work in progress. I was thinking of a few different ideas for the coffee table, some of you shared them:1. If it covered the medallion but left the four corners popping out that might look ok.

2. A few small tables/trays scattered about instead of one big one in the center. I wanted trays regardless anyways.

3. Glass coffee table.

Most of the coffee tables shared are too high for floor seating I think, so I'd have to cut the legs or construct a base myself.

This coffee table is just under 13" high and 35"x35". You could even buy 2 and put them side by side to make it longer

I like the elements of your room, and I hope that you'll post more pictures as things come together. The rug, the fireplace, the trim, and the paint colors are really exciting. I don't know how much you plan to spend on a coffee table, but I wanted to suggest that you keep an eye on Craigslist. I was in the market for a glass table some months back and found many options that didn't come anywhere close to what I would have spent in a furniture store. Good luck.

Yes I mostly look on Craigslist and at diy ideas. Actually the rug is 100% Virgin wool off craigslist for $50. I'll post more pictures as I continue
