Antique desk and electric cords?

I have a beautiful antique executive desk that was my dad's and I am refinishing for my home office. The desk will be facing a window so my back is against the wall. The issue: I really don't want to cut a hole in the top of the desk for a grommet. I please need ideas in order to not have the cords from hanging over the top of the desk. Thanks!

Use cord covers that match the finish.

Thanks. I should have been more clear; it is not the camouflage I'm worried about but rather the clutter of cords on top of my workspace (Laptop, cell phone charger, monitor, speaker phone, and iPad!)

well, if you think of what you are asking for advice.... you dont want the cords to go someplace else (grommet) and you don't want them there (clutter). the other choice i can think of is to recharge your items elsewhere and only use them while charged on the desk. that leaves you with one monitor cord.

Do you have room for a second desk designed for computer use with a grommet hole and a keyboard tray? An L shaped arrangement may allow you to have the best of both worlds.

Thanks all for your recommendations. Based upon your comments, I think I may need to just have some sort of hutch in the office that can store all of these. Best of both worlds indeed! ;-)
