Cross-post: Talk to me about pressure cookers!

I wrote the following in the cookware forum, but sadly that's not a very popular section :( so I'm hoping someone passionate from the Kitchens area can help me out. Here's my original post, which you can find here:

"I'm bumping this topic because I need to bounce some ideas on buying a pressure cooker. Right now I have a T-fal that operates at a max of 12 psi and I'm looking for something that goes to 15 psi.

I have the option of buying a Fissler Vitaquick for the equivalent of about 100$, but couldn't really find any info on the operating pressure (wrote them an e-mail, haven't heard back yet).

Another option would be Kuhn Rikon, but from theamazon description, it also operates at about 12 psi.

My husband did find another option that goes up to 15 psi - Beem. It seems a very good choice seeing that it has two pots (one 4L and one 6 L) and a basket, and it also has good reviews. But I don't know anything about this brand.

What would you pick? I don't really want to go over 150 EUR, but if there's a very important reason to go over this amount, I could.

I have an Instantpot 7-1. InstantPot on Amazon. I think the psi though is 11. I very rarely cooked but have had this now for over a year and I have used it so many times. I love it. It has a lot of functions. I've made cheese cake, apple cake, lasagna, stews, soups ribs, porkchops, etc and everything came out delicious and fast. It's 6 quarts which is fine for 2 of us with leftover dinner the next day. Great size also for my small kitchen.

If you want it for canning I don't think you can go electric. We have an American. Like it a lot. We can on a gas cook stove outside.

I don't can (at least not yet :) so I only need it for cooking. However I would like a classic one, not an electric one,

I have the Fagor 6-quart PC and I'm very happy with it. I also have an InstaPot which is an amazing machine.

I've had an instapot (from amazon) for about a year now and I absolutely love it. I've never had experience with any pressure cooker before but I did some research and this seemed like the best for my needs. I use it most for rice, beans, steel cut oats, and pork kahlua. I'm always trying new things in it though, I used it as a slow cooker a few days ago for the first time, and pressure cooked chicken tortilla soup in it today!

I happened to just order one today recommended on America's Test Kitchen. So, I can't personally tell you how it will perform, only that it tested very well by them.

Hopefully you can find it elsewhere since they sold out today.

I have the fagor and really like it for food, I don't do any canning....

designsaavy, the Fissler I was looking at was the one ATK liked the most. But maybe the ones for US are different, since the one they sell in EU only reaches 12 psi.

Fagor I couldn't find here, nor American.

I'm really leaning towards the BEEM, but never heard of them up until now.

On the other hand, I could get the Fissler Vitaquick for quite a discount, but I'm not sure it would be better than what I have now, since the max pressure would be about the same.

The Fagor wasn't the top performer, but the Best Buy and performed nearly as well for a fraction of the cost. I got it on sale for $88. Hope you find what you need. :-)

I have the 5 quart and 7.4 quart Kuhn Rikon and love them both. For a typical meal you won't need more than 12 psi.

I also have a larger 15 quart Buffalo stainless cooker that goes just short of 13 psi. This is a generic design that lacks some of the features of the Kuhn Rikon but it is actually quite functional.
