Talk about extravagant!!

OMG, what a shock! What a wonderful shock! Loved it!!! Thanks so much for sharing that. What a huge letdown when I got to the den (?), though.

Thanks for sharing the listing, fun to look at, tho not my style. I completely missed the original post!

Wow! I love the name "The Knight's Room". I wonder why the office is so bland.

Oh my. That really was a shock, I must say that house gave me the willies for the most part. I adored the stunning stained glass windows. I think that the windows alone are worth the asking price of the house. I thought the kitchen was fabulous and I also really liked the dining room. I wonder though how quickly the tax man will be onto her now that she has her home listed?

speechless

Ironically, though, the house is actually worth less than comparable properties in the neighborhood because it has zero market appeal and also because there are no comparable sales. Right now its probably a tear down, lot value only.

If anyone falls in love with the chandelier in that dining room, I have 2 of them in the garage that are available....

It's gorgeous, but I wouldn't want to live in it.

What a hoot! Maybe the owner was a fan of Renzo Mongiardino?

I thought it was dreadful.

Totally not my style and a perfect example of someone trying to turn a simple house into something it isn't.

I am happy for the owner if she loves it. To me, it's hideous. I'm not a big fan of 'faux', whether it's a faux dowager countess-ship (Not sure if that's the right term, I'm behind on my Downton Abbey) or a faux medieval castle. The low ceilings and all the ornate wood...I expected Mrs. Munster to pop out from behind an ornate column.

This keeps showing up on the GW forums! Train wreck that no one can believe?

Cardinal Richleiu called...he wants his palace back.

Absolutely hideous.

I really enjoyed seeing this. The shocking part was the transition to the too ordinary hidden rooms. I'd love to be able to visit. What fun the owner must have had, designing and implementing. Someone will probably say similar things about my house years from now, when I'm wheeled out to the old ladies home,,,,
