Farmhouse windows- matching whites?!?!

Hello there. We are building a farmhouse. I am planning on doing the exterior in white Hardie board and field stone. I'm not sure yet if we will go with the prepainted Arctic white or maybe just primed and then paint a softer off white. We are supposed to order the windows this week. The original plan was to do white aluminum clad windows. Do people usually paint the exterior of new windows to match siding? If not, do most people just count on the slightly different shades of white not being noticeable?

If it is a traditional farmhouse leave the trim white if modern farm house design I would do black window frames.

I am trying to keep everything fairly classic so it won't look dated down the road. That was my thought process in going with white. I'm just worried that the white of the windows won't match the white siding.

Don't paint aluminum clad windows. The beauty of aluminum clad is that it's maintenance free. Painting means you'll have to repaint.

If you want the whites to match exactly, either match the siding paint to the window color or get wood windows and paint everything the same.

We tried the Hardie ColorPlus siding in a light color and I would not do it again. The colors were off from other colors on the home, it showed where it was handled and cut by workers. We ended up painting it so it became even more expensive. Having tried this at home, we advise clients to get primed and paint it. Then you can match all your colors.

We are doing a traditional farmhouse in Vermont and going with the same color hardie board and Marvin farmhouse windows in black. Traditional to our area and will never need painting or updating. Somethings never change.
