We are building a new house and have selected ivory shaker cabinets for the perimeter and a medium maple color on the island. I am going for a timeless and traditional look but with so many kinds of back splash material I am at a loss. I am leaning towards subway tile, but don't know if white would like right. would matching the tiles to the cabinets(ivory) be to matchy matchy? I don't want a bright color that will go out of style or I may get tired of. We have not selected the counter tops yet either, but are leaning towards a granite with ivory, gray, black, and maybe a little brown to tie the kitchen together.
