Really like the look of Polarstone Quartz, Olympia, any advice on this

Updating our kitchen and trying to find a marble look. The Polarstone has been the closet. We are concerned with its durability.

I'm also going with the Polarstone Olympia. What color white paint are you using on your cabinets.

    Benjamin Moore, white dove

Thank you! That's what I've selected as well.

What did you use for the backsplash?

We're using Polarstone Olympia for the backsplash and countertops.

    That sounds great. Thank you

Hows does the Polar Stone look. Are you both happy with the product? Ready to order soon. Would love a picture if you can.

We are just getting our kitchen completed and are very happy with the Polarstone.

Can someone please post a picture of their kitchen/countertops? I'm considering this as well. This is the floor I'm considering

    Picture wouldn't post. ☹️

Mine will not be installed until August... would also love to see a picture.

I would love to see some pics of the polarstone installed. Went looking at the polarstone samples today...
Left is the Ibiza, right is the Olympia and bottom is the Calcutta.

Hi! I am thinking of going with the Olympia and am wondering if anyone has recent pics they can post. Also how do you like it now that it's installed? Thanks!

Sorry no help . I decided on Sea Pearl Quartzite instead.

Here are a few pictures of the Polarstone Olympia on our peninsula.

Hi there, I wanted to know since it's been a year - do you have any update on the Polarstone Olympia? Has it held up well? Thanks!!

I am also curious as to how it's held up. I am thinking about going with Polarstone but can't decide between Olympia or Ibiza. Has anyone used Ibiza?

Karen, we ended up going with Ibiza. We have a bright white kitchen, and I think the Ibiza was more "true white" than Olympia. Also, the ibiza's swirls have blue undertones rather than yellow. We love it.

I hope it lasts for us. I did notice that a frozen berry that melted on the countertop left a stain that was pretty hard to get out. We are going to be careful with that.

I am also leaning towards the Olympia and was worried BM White Dove cabinets may look too yellow with it so I was considering BM Chantilly Lace. Any other recommendations? Does anyone have pictures of Olympia countertops with White Dove painted cabinets? Would also like to know how the Olympia quartz is holding up with stains/chips/etc. Thanks!

That looks great together thanks! Maybe it was just in the lighting I had in my kitchen at a certain time.

We've had polarstone Ibiza for less than 2 weeks now. We already have scratches. We don't have children, it's just the two of us, and we are very gentle with the countertops. We use a proper cutting board and keep our countertops bare, to avoid issues. I'm so disappointed. I can't imagine what these will look like in a year from now. This is not a durable material - I'm not sure if it's just our color Ibiza or all polarstone products.
Oh no was just about to order the Polarstone Olympia? Any idea how you got those scratches? Has anyone else with Polarstone Quartz had the same issue with scratches or stains?

We have no idea where these scratches came from. We place (felt-tipped) coasters under everything. The scratches aren't deep - they are just beneath that first layer. And we don't know how to fill them. We've had stains that were a bit tougher to get out (like a berry or coffee drip) but none that were permanent.

Did you notice any of those scratches when they were first installed? I've heard it can happen in the fabrication process. Also what cleaner do you use? I've heard some cleaners can create a foggy look. I'm about to purchase these so hoping that you haven't had any more problems with yours!

I am also purchasing the Polarstone Olympia (decided on the Olympia instead of Ibiza) countertops and am so nervous! Our distributor has reassured me that they double, triple, quadruple check the slabs for any irregularities or damage and back up their product with a warranty. This makes me feel somewhat better but I do have children and I know that we are going to be rough on this product. I am praying it will stand the test of time (& kids)!

@Karen did you get the Olympia installed yet? Need to make a decision ASAP and would love to hear if you are liking it and how it is holding up. Thanks!

Christine, I did decide to go with the Olympia. It has not been installed yet but as soon as it is I will post pictures. Here is a photo of our slab and one of a cut countertop for someone else's kitchen.

I have had Olympia counters for the last year and love it. I almost chose Polarstone Carrera, but Olimpia had more veining. No stains even after coffee and ketchup being left on it awhile. I had Corian and it was great, but put the quartz in to get house ready for sale. Have and will recommend Polarstone Olympia.

We've had Polarstone ibiza for about a month and fingers crossed, no issues so far. I love it. Someone asked me today if it was marble. Our outside cabinets are white - the quartz base is not white-white but kind of light-gray toned maybe

. I love the contrast vs white cabinets and I don't think it looks dingy at all. Here are a couple of pics. Island cabinets are light gray.
    hope this helps!

Hi does anyone have picture examples of Olympia used as a full backsplash as well? I would like to see if the marbling detailing would look too distracting. Thank you!

We are leaning toward Olympia, too. Just a question: does anyone note blue in the veining or is it primarily a tan-gray vein pattern?

Mostly light gray soft veining with very tiny bit of beige- very slight. I was able to look at slabs. Almost chose Carrera Polar Stone until I saw the slab. It was a little blueish and veining was too busy for me. Much prefer Olympia. Calcutta has large veins for more dramatic look. I wanted more subtle veining. Love it!

@nanio55 what color paint is that on the wall in your photo?

Hulabee16 - The color is Kendall Charcoal, HC-166 by Benjamin Moore.

Love my Polarstone Olympia. Everyone that sees it can't believe it is quartz. Looks stunning! Had it for 2 months now and no problems.

Can anyone update since last year? I am in the process of choosing my countertops. Polarstone has been a top contender after months of searching for a marble look without the maintenance. I went to see Olympia which I love, but also saw Opal Marquette, which looks even more realistic. I also found out the formula for manufacturing has recently changed, so the product is no longer being called quartz, but instead, engineered composite. The Olympia slab did have a whiter background than the older sample I saw, and the veining was more of a true gray (the older sample had some green undertones).

Has anyone recently installed counters with the newer formulation, and have any of you installed Opal Marquette. Would love to see pictures and hear feedback.

So glad I found this. I'm about to pull the trigger on the polar stone olympia too. I was considering alabaster as my cabinet color with the champagne bronze knobs. I'm really struggling with a backsplash color. I like the beveled subway tile maybe with an oyster grey grout but is this too white for the Olympia? I also want to make sure that the olympia doesn't cast an off-white or yellowish hue...thoughts? Thanks so much trying to get this all done by thanksgiving!!!

If you love it, go for it. Not sure what supply is like now but when we did our kitchen renovation last summer, we had to decide quickly with Polarstone or lose the slabs. We went with Opal Marquette and are very pleased with our decision. It very closely resembles marble. We used white vintage subway tile with the uneven edges and gray grout and don’t feel it is too white at all. Good luck with your project!

@bathdilemna can you please post pictures of the opal marquette installed? I am interested in both that one and the Olympia. I have white cabinets (not stark but not warm tones) and I am wondering which would look Better?

We used Olympia on a kitchen island in our last house over painted BM sea pearl cabinets. Against the sea pearl, the Olympia looked almost identical and little contrast. We loved it so much that in our new home, we’re using it again although we’re doing Fabuwood Galaxy Frost cabinets and the contrast with such a bright white is good. The Olympia on top of the brighter white definitely has a nice gray contrast. The veining in the quartz is more of a beige/sage color. Got compliments all the time on the island. Can’t wait to use it again! Pics are of the Olympia on top of BM sea pearl painted island.

@Clare B really appreciate the pictures - thanks so much!

Runnermom - here are some different views of my Opal Marquette. We love it.

bathdilemna this is the only photo I can find of Opal Marquette! Can you post more photos? We love it!

Both the Olympia and the Opal Marquette are beautiful. Can anyone tell me how they are holding up against scratching, stains, chipping? Thanks! And pics are always helpful.

Kathleen, I’ve had mine 4 years and it still looks great. No stains or chips i just wipe clean with a sponge and use a quartz cleaner occasionally.

Our Olympia was installed in 2016 and still looks new. We’re very happy with it and would definitely use it again.

Thanks so much to both of you for your input. I need all the help I can get in this decision.

I know this is an old thread and i even commented on my choice 4 years ago. I have Opal Marquette with Fabuwood Galaxy Frost cabinets and am very happy.

I am now in the process of updating a kitchen at the beach. After looking at many quartz products, i keep coming back to Polarstone, also called Vision Quartz and am thinking of Olympia this time. I will be painting my cabinets and have been recommended to go with Benjamin Moore White Dove by a designer. other whites look very stark while this is creamy im just nervous about it looking too off white or whether it will have undertones. My designer insists it will look white when its done i see @beckyao you have the same combination. are you happy with your choice? Can anyone else give me affirmation of using white dove with Olympia? The cabinets are scheduled to be painted next week!

@bathdilemna, hope your second remodel is going well!

Question for your original Opal Marquette: does it read white or gray to you in person? Would love more pictures or commentary but from previous comments it sounds like you were satisfied with it as a countertop.
