I am having the same quandry. I have the same colour cabinets with black granite counter. I am thinking either white or grey...leaning toward grey because I think the white would be just too stark.

I don't think expresso will look very good with your black countertops, and it would also be very dark. So go with the white cabinets. If you want something different on the island, maybe use a medium gray color that matches your back splash tiles.

I would go with white cabinets with a color on the island that would look fantastic with your dining room color. Sage green. Wedge wood blue or a golden yellow.

my dinning room colour is more of a red ... the picture makes it look orange

my love living room colours match my dinning room ..and my railings are now painted white

my railings are white

I see. The computer does strange thing so color. I really like the white railings. I would still bring some color into your kitchen some how.

With all of the Google Images available, I would use that search and see what you can find.

I feel like white cabinets are the way to go ...and as for the island either white or possibly gray ...still deciding..but appreciate everyone's suggestions ...please keep them coming :)

Espresso cabinets are already becoming dated so avoid that, I actually like perimeter counters in a very plain finish witha different showy counter on the island but all the cabinets the same color . In your space because of the dark elements i would do a white marble counter on the island.

I am not changing my granite counters to expensive. I just want to change the cabinets ...so.I guess white it is

the counters are solid granite including island and cost me over 5000.00 for the small space . so does everyone agree white cabinets and same colour for the island ?

Patricia ...would you suggest white for the island or a grey.. I am keeping the stainless steel back splash , the uba Tuba granite and the porcelain grey toned floor tiles ...also the handles on the cupboards.
I don't mind new lighting fixtures ...and I can paint the walls of necessary .

Kitchen done ..now to work on dinning room ..thinking darker grey walls and reclaimed wood table with creams and browns
