Interesting! I would lose that tiny special washer in about 3 seconds, then sew through the ruler about 10 seconds after that! LOL

I wonder if you could make your own with Plexiglas? There are rulers for long arms that are similar to those.

I have a friend who's company makes cutting rulers, so she might be able to produce something similar. But have to be careful with copyright issues...

I liked this concept because the channel offered help keeping the foot in place. But now I've also been watching videos with other rulers and a ruler foot...didn't know this existed!

My hopping foot works with rulers and I like using them. Tim got me a Top Anchor star ruler for Christmas but I haven't used it yet. I think it would work without the channel, just a shaped edge. You would have to be a bit more careful, but should work.

I see Crafty has a sale on quilt classes and one is Quilting with rulers on your home sewing machine. I don't think the rulers have a channel but the foot looks similar. The Parr rulers look interesting. I FM on my sewing machine and treadle machine so these things interest me.

Jen, these folks had a booth at the Daytona AQS show this week. It was $85 for the slider mat, hopping foot and basic ruler, and $20 each for additional rulers. They will probably be at other AQS shows coming up.

Thanks for the info, Donna. They've not responded to my email with questions, so at least I know they're still in business. It seemed like on their website, the rulers were cheaper than $20, even with conversions..

I've bought a ruler foot from the Janome dealer I use in AL. A friend can actually make rulers, so I might see if she can cut one for me to see if it's worthy...
