What an amazing product! Is it suitable for SK, Canada winters?

Hi, I live and garden (organically) in Central Saskatchewan, Canada, where winter temps average -20 C, with the occasional -45 C. Will the Ground Fridge withstand these temperatures? I'm intrigued because the photo shows it placed in sand and the area we live in is very sandy. I look forward to your reply!

Here in the South, we always called that a "root cellar"! Many older homes have a small brick floored "dugout" a few feet away from the kitchen. They are very efficient for storing root vegetables and canned produce.
