I have used RP in two of my own homes, and two of my client's homes, and it has always been an elegant, understated color. I don't believe it will clash with your furniture. It is a great color. I have not seen it read as green, but with the wrong light bulbs it possibly could.

Gray is better, but both are drab. Don't fear color!

You all are so helpful. Here are a few more pictures to give u an idea of the family room that is currently very warm tone. Furnishings won't change but I wan to rid the house of the 50 shades of tan/ brown into something a little less gold and fresher. Family room has small north facing windows and gets little light. If I do RP in foyer and EG Family room + kitchen (opens to kitchen) with court land blue or Wedgwood gray as fireplace accent wall will that look TOO gray? I'm so tempted to break it up with a white

Also--if you're finding RP or EG to be on the green side, check out Balboa Mist, Classic Gray, and Pale Oak (the last two are a little lighter than EG).

Edgecomb gray. I just used Revere pewter and it does read a tad green at certain times of the day. I also find it on the light side for what it is. We did two coats of BM the most expensive type. I wish I had gone with something decidedly warmer like EG. RP is not bad, but it's not quite living up the hype for me.

I just did a sample swatch paint of Edgecomb Gray in living room. It looks exactly like the color of an unprimed sheetrock. I am not finding it very flattering. My family room also faces north and it is important to remember that north facing rooms need deeper pigmented colors otherwise it will look washed out and cold. Revere Pewter may be a better option for you. It will go nicely with your furniture.

My husband said the exact same thing of the RP! He said "looks like Sheetrock before its painted" so would balboa mist or eg be too light for the family room u think?
