Advice on kitchen backslash. Help!

Moving to a new course of action on kitchen remodel and in a pickle!! Originally planned to get white marble countertops, white glass backslash and a gray herringbone behind the Stove. Today went to layout the template on the stone only to uncover it could not be cut as one piece and would wind up with varying directions of veining right in L section of the countertop. As much as I am crushed and in mourning of walking away from that stone this is not an option for me.

I found another slab I do love, aqua venito and decided to switch to it. With it though comes a totally different look than I had planned and lost what to do on the back splash! I was so set on the white/airy theme the brown is totally throwing me off! I really really still want to try to keep it as light and airy as possible (my kitchen is small) , and thinking white ceramic subway. But can't envision it would it be too much white with the cabinets? And no idea at all for what to do behind the stove. I am very visual and cant find may photos with this quartzite. Thank you for any suggestions!!

my kitchen now. very white.
