Slate grey is probably a good option, given that you have warm colours on your steps, the paprika and the golden oak steps. Soft shades of blue are complementary, and the shade you have in your runner would be pick, only in a lighter version. Beautiful!

Hi pajabr -- I can see it in this close-up, but does the blue gray disappear a bit when you step back from it? If it does, just make sure that you reinforce the red against the grey on the walls through artwork, if you have wall space for it, for your color story to make sense. Very nice choice of stair runner!

Jute by Olympic...it's about the color of the center medallion, a golden tan & a great neutral that will let the red take center stage. Framed family photos along the staircase with a double-mat..top- mat in paprika red and the under-mat in the same color as the walls.
