Where is the TV going? Looks like the wall with the starburst clock is the only place it will fit.

Two initial comments: everything you have hung on the walls is either too high or too small, or both. Second, you really need to either remove the ceiling molding or paint it the same color as the wall. All it does is lower your ceiling.

You need to give us photos of each area from all four directions. It's the only way we can make sense of your space and advise you. Stand in each corner of the living area and shoot the opposite walls. Do the same in the dining area.

I agree your wall items need to be grouped more tightly and make a focal point. There is a little bit everywhere and it doesn't feel cohesive. If I may recommend a book, I've found "Use What You Have Decorating" by Lauri Ward to be extremely helpful in this area. I have five kids in a tiny home and bought a lot of what I have in a piecemeal, thrifty fashion. So utilizing the space and being stylish while still maintaining a budget is key.

You said you want a brighter look. I think your wall color is too deep but it's also not bright. It's greyed down. Consider Benjamin Moore's "simply White". It's an offwhite, but bright and cheerful, clean looking. Then the colors you do choose and I would stick to three, will pop. Consider spray painting your dining room chairs a favorite color.

Using a sectional in a small place is daring. Does it work for you? I would stick with furniture that shows it's legs and has no "skirt". Tables should be light colored, painted a shade of white. It can be a slightly different shade, like BM's White Dove. Layering white on white might sound boring, but it opens a space up and when you do use color, then it counts and doesn't get lost in a jumble of color. Your curtains are pretty but they take up too much visual space. I wouldn't have full length curtins. I like 3/4 of the way down the wall. I think of it like wearing a midi skirt. Look for pendant lighting in metal. For the shine of the metal and so that you're not taking up floor space with floor lighting fixtures. Target is a good source for lighting.

Keep finding things that you want to refinish and make your own.

Thanks for the extra photos. They help a lot. I think you have a good start with the sectional and curtains and rug, and it won't take much to make the place sing.

I was going to move your TV to the end wall, then decided that might make it more difficult to watch from the sofa, so I did a bit of rearranging instead. You might have room for another chair this way, if you'd like one.

Advantages to moving the TV to the end wall are that traffic from the hall won't be crossing in front of it, and you can see it from the dining area and kitchen.

Blinds would be awesome. Go with micro-blinds. They don't show when you open them. Most online places have them. I do think eliminating some if not all curtains would be a great design move. Open up your space more. These happen to be black blinds, which you wouldn't want, but you can see that you're able to see the outdoors, bring it inside and then completely close it out. I would recommend an off-white, rather than a bright white.

Adrienne, how wide is your TV? You need a TV stand that is much wider than the one you have, and I suspect the one you posted above isn't wide enough.

That TV stand is only 53", not long enough.

Coordinating the areas isn't a problem. The rug you have under the dining table now would be fine except it's really too small. You can replace it, or you can go rugless there (which makes cleaning the area much easier, anyway).

Go with curtains the same color as walls. It will give you more "room" visually. Keep them simple and lightweight.

I've yet to find the rug, yet want the navy n blue with a trellis pattern still. I did find pillows, a throw, and kitchen rugs at home goods that I liked with vibrant colors and would like your opinions. I'm in Cleveland on a shopping trip so trying to get everything I need before I return home!

I like the direction you're heading in with cream walls and curtains and color in your accessories. Not fond of the green mat. Maybe choose 3-4 colors and stick with that. Perhaps navy, red, pink and yellow. Those colors would make your room cheerful.

The green is a throw blanket and wasn't sure about it, loved the color and texture and thought with the art I liked it would help pull it together?!?!?

I think the art is too white, but if you love it, go for it. I would, however, limit the color palette and skip the green. Stick with navy, teal, and orange. It will be more harmonious.

I would very strongly recommend that you paint your walls first. They're going to be neutral and won't need to coordinate. When that is done the next big step will be the carpeting. Take it one step at a time. Keep your inspiration in Houzz's Ideabooks. You've narrowed down your color favorites and that's a big step. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything or change anything until you've taken the first step with painting. imo
