Key hooks?

Hi everyone.. This is really not that big of an issue but still wanted your advice on where to put up my key hooks (we're always looking for our keys!).. My husband disagrees with me but says he'll do whatever the consensus is from you guys. We have a very narrow entry way with a coat hanger and small console against the wall, whilst the other side opens up into the dining and drawing room.. Here are some pictures for some perspective.. Where would you put up the key hook? the small wall on the right side of the door or should it be on the same wall as the coat tree and console..the wall is more functional but can eyesore on an already busy wall and narrow entry way (we are yet to add a small mirror and accent to the console).. What do you think?

i would skip the hooks and put a pretty bowl on the console to just drop your keys in when you get home ;)

Yes skip hooks. Use a pretty colored tray or bowl for keys on console. Depending on your console size, pottery barn has some nice sized ones.

I get you. I'm a 'hooks' person.

I'd put it where it would be least noticeable from the living room.

Well, hooks is neither here nor there with me. what i do get into is safety. i was robbed a couple times back home-in the city, jewelry box of course stolen, checked all the usual places - under mattress, in the linen closet, etc. when i moved from one tiny town to another? robbed again. things not taken? my jewelry in my little bowls scattered around. things not seen and not placed where they belong. So I would put my key hooks behind the coats on the coat rack. Easy for you, not obvious for nefarious souls. or place a bowl on the kitchen counter, somewhere not easily thought of.
