Maybe look at colors like Philadelphia Cream? Whites with a yellowish hue? I also love Shelbourne Buff with dark wood.

Grays are very popular and getting more so. They are the new neutral and have a sophisticated look and feel to any room.

Greys are gorgeous with dark wood trim... just carefully consider your light sources and whether you're attempting to bring coolness, warmth, light, etc. into your spaces with the wall colour. Pale, cool, almost white grey would make your trim and flooring look crisp and defined (think graphic art outlines) -- whereas a warmer mid-toned grey would accentuate the natural comfort that wood offers.
