Hi, I'm looking for ideas to fill two soil squares on our patio. Looking for the creation of privacy (a lot of space between fence posts and vertical line of sight into our house), drought-friendly (I'm in Northern CA, zone 9), kid-friendly (we have a 14 month old) and something that will be loved by local birds, etc.I am considering layering CA native plants with the tallest in back (maybe lupines with different heights of plants in front), or maybe a small tree (nothing taller than 10' mature) or maybe even growing raspberries along the fence. Very new to landscape design so looking for any ideas and/or advice! Thanks!!!
