Oh I'm so glad the Group liked the thread/post. Thanks
much for the warm reception, it's a bit of a leap for me to post something like
this, a series, which I haven't seen
much of here before (I think).

I've been writing this up to document some of this work for my
Quilt Blog (karenthequilter.blogspot.com). I can learn a lot from breaking things down like this.

The fact that these fabrics are fancy wovens, rather than prints
is pretty different to start. The printed Liberty cottons were much finer,
lighter weight & that made them unstable to work with. If I’d tried to cut them
on bias, it would have been bad.

But somehow I perceived this & knew to start the layout alternating
the Shirting blocks w/ the Liberty blocks, which made the whole thing more
stable to handle & sew.

I don’t know that other folks would even Quilt w/ these materials. But they re donated to our Guild, so recognizing how fortunate that is I am grateful.

Also, I wanted to show the back of this Quilt, as I’m very
curious & when possible, I wish to see &/or show the backs of quilts.

A bit more checkerboard for the road. ;>)

So I think I'll finalize the series post at the Blog, thanks for being a receptive audience.

This has gone so well I'm encouraged to start another thread on another current charity top I'm working on.
