Bench seats under windows - like them or hate them?

I've always thought I loved these bench seats under a window, however, now we are redoing our master bath/ bedroom and I was going to put one in the bedroom under our huge window and then closets on either side of the bench. Now that I look at pics of this type of set up it makes me feel like the window isn't as "open", it all just looks crowded. What do you think??

I think it also depends on the amount of space, the size of the window, the color involved and if there is mirror or glass on the front of the cabinets. It can look crowded OR spectacular.

I think that it largely depends on the space whether it looks good or not. We have done probably 20 under window bench seats of all different sizes and style and each one is unique for the space. So as to not only add more functionality to the space but to enhance the look of the space as well.

If you put in open shelving with drawers underneath rather than closets , I think it will work well.

Diane I do like that better but I need to put my closets there so that less space is taken up in the rest of the room
