I agree I don't love it and I think it's too dark. It appearing dark from one direction and light from another is normal for high pile wool rugs. If you don't love it, I would take it back because you're going to have it for a while.

Nope. Don't buy it under any circumstances. Need something with more interest in a paler tone and contrasting colour. Pale teal feature colour (like your cushion and chair) on a pale neutral base

I agree with the previous person. I do not think this is the right rug for your room / house. Your furniture is quite dark and you only have the few highlights of colour from the teal chair and cushion. I would go the complete opposite and go for a plain, un-patterned cream / white rug with maybe a bit of luxurious texture e.g. longer fibre. I think this should really lift the room and then you can add other pops of colour with white / cream and coloured cushions. The lighter colour also brings the curtains, dining chairs, and wall together and still leaves you with the lushness of the darker tones in the polished floor and furniture. I would also look at the layout of the furniture. Less is more and I think the room looks crowded.

Thanks Everyone for the feedback. I will follow you recommendations and keep looking for a better one. the rug is quite special but not a good fit.

I like the blue accent pillows, try playing off of the pillows. The rug you have there now looks really dull. Try lighter colors, but please no pink.

I looked at the photos, then went back and re-read your comments. And, I realize the problems of moving from spot to spot. I kind of suspected that from the photos.

Unless you regularly need seating for eight or more, see if you can find another place for the orange-y leather chairs.They fight with the rest of the room for attention, whereas the mid mod turquoise chair should be the star. It's a lovely piece, and I'm guessing you love it too, as your accents work to try to bring it into play.

Sadly, I'd also say the very lovely rug doesn't work here. Look for a more neutral, I'd say shaggy solid, or a minimal pattern bringing the aqua/turquoise in from the investment lounge chair.

If the leather on the chairs is 'real' not vinal then keep them as old leather chairs are classy. Pity you can"t relocate the 2 seater. I would possibly remove the teal arm chair that might fit in a bed room. Move the two seater to where the leather arm chairs are now then move the arm chairs two where the teal chair & two seater are now & put these chairs on a slight diagional with a small table between them e.g. one chair facecs the TV "/" then a small table & one chair faces slightly towards the main couch "\". That will soften the seating group & it will make the two arm chairs a small area to have a coffee or conversation with a friend. I hope you under stand what I mean. Hopefully this will work
