We're a little late here but most composite or PVC products get extremely hot in the sun especially in Florida. We have a factory in Sarasota, Florida and our most popular decking we recommend is Ipe wood. Unfortunately most of the PVC and composite products have had many issues and class action lawsuits for failing to meet their promises. Therefore we do not carry any of those products as of now. We have been selling Ipe and other sustainable hardwoods for nearly 30 years, it's the most durable decking we've found. Ipe holds up very well in Florida you will not be disappointed we get calls every week from homeowners that need to replace the fake plastic decking they just installed. Do your research and look for reviews and complaints on Google for the fake plastic products.

We agree with Advantage. Ipe is fine in Florida and we sell a ton of it in Florida. With every dimension represented that you could wanted stored in our Miami warehouse we’re well positioned to supply you with whatever you need in any profile. A lot of times it’s more inexpensive than composite or PVC. It’s not any more difficult to install than any other wood other than predrilling the holes for the screws and the Starborn Drill and Drive/Smartbit takes all the effort out of it. Some composite/PVC products DO get really hot in the Florida sun, but there are some that don’t. We haven’t heard of Gossen but do like and sell the Deckorator Vault line and their new Voyage line which is really nice. As Advantage said, there is a history of lawsuits that have followed the composite/pvc market with the company’s going out of business and the customer left holding the bag.
