Consider a new rug, yours is beautiful - do you have another place for it? Something with color and lighter. Look over your accessories to see if you can edit out some of dark ones. Love how this West Elm pulls in subtle colors, design and texture. It would be a focal point which I think your room could use.

I like it the way it is, but I don't like a lot of color in my own décor...I go for a very soothing look like you have. If you want a pop of color, I'd add sea glass shades of blue/green. I find your spaces very calming. By the way, I love the fabric on your sofas! Where are they from?

Your coffee table and paint colours are perfect. If you feel the need for a bit of colour do it in your cushions or possibly change out a few accessories. For instance, the flower pot on your coffee table could be painted a colour. I like the suggestion for salmon. Both I agree with others, your space is already beautiful.

Sometimes the good thing that comes from hearing opinions is you sharpen your own thoughts about a space. Sounds like you've picked and chosen. If you are still struggling with the television, what specifically?

Puremicihigan, the tv wall area is large and can get busy. It's the only wall in the room and I've tried wall shelves, pictures, and now the small towers. The balance is not quite right...

I think you might want to move one of your current pieces of art to another room and replace it with a colored piece. Then pick up a little color from the artwork on your sofa pillows. That will pull things together. The dining room would be a perfect place to add color to the wall, as it will pull the eye to the far corner of the room. Good luck! Post an after picture.

I think your ladder shelves are too small in proportion to the space they're used in.

I like how that wall looks, as it is now. I see things like how the coffee table is lined up with the console below the television and want to tweak it one way or another. I think the ladders could be moved just a bit away from the television. I don't think you want art that would be distracting on that wall. Was there something specific that you don't like?

I didn't realize you had ladder shelves on both sides. One ladder shelf is almost too much for me. I much prefer the floating shelves you had before. I also very much like the monochromatic look you have. It's very calm.

Find your colorful accent for pillows and rug. Get rid of the collegiate ladder shelves.

Lovely room. I'll suggest a tiny tweak for the ladder shelf. If you put the big square basket on the bottom shelf, it would hide the wall outlet and cord.

I do like this piece and the subtle colors melting into each other and you could take one or some of these colors into your space. Nice!

Oh, that canvas looks great there, and the coral and turquoise are the perfect intensity to repeat in the living area. You don't need too much; the pillow in your second photo above looks like it might already work (if it's not too orange).

Your dining corner is quite cramped. A rug under the dining table should be 4' wider and longer than the table top yet not run into baseboards or furniture on the walls. Ideally there should be no less than 12" of exposed floor before the rug collides with furniture or baseboards. You need the 24" all around for chair scoot and sit space. Then another 18-24" for serving or exiting the table while others remain seated. I'd suggest you move the entire area and chandelier in order to have proper dining space around the table. It is doubtful you can fit a properly sized rug into this two sided room, but you can give the table and chairs their proper space. If the two walls are unequal in size you may find turning the chandelier and table to be parallel with the longer wall will work better.

Have you considered adding some yellow accents... [cushions, flowers, fruit bowls].

I like the new black and white canvas very much; it's a totally different look from the pink and blue one, which I also liked. All your choices are good and you just have to tinker till you are satisfied.

YES, add color. Having some color gives a room interest and dimension.

,When you have two similarly shaped and sized pieces near each other, it creates a tension that can appear busy. It isn't that you have too many little things. The coffee table and tv stand are fighting each other. Is the tv stand necessary? An oval or round coffee table or an ottomon might be work better.

I love the turquoise in the pillow and that you've decided on an accent color because I think that's what's been missing. I don't think your ladders are busy. And as you add and subtract pieces from it, it'll become more cohesive. Each piece will add to the whole.
