Can you post any images of your room? I am assuming, after reading your post, that you are looking for arm chairs for the living room, not dining room.

Was a little hesitant to post photos since I've posted about this room before. We have a funky sunken living room with cathedral ceilings and - while we wait to get an estimate for and figure out raising the floor - we plant to add book shelves running along this back wall and create a sitting area by replacing the wicker chairs with comfy gray ones and adding a coffee table and jute rug.

I would not suggest a jute rug--you need color and pattern in the room. Try for a large bold ares rug and paint the walls, or at least 1 wall as an accent wall.

I think my husband would love something like this but I fear it would be too bulky (this chair is obviously out of our price range) so I'd like to find something similar but more affordable. Is ordering chairs from a site like joss and main crazy?

RH stuff is gorgeous and $$. You can look for knockoffs online. The only downside to online is not being there in person to see it and sit in it. That's why check out the return policy so you know for how long you have to return something. You can get fabric samples for free or a small amount. All of these online companies survive by being reputable, they usually publish comments with each product. So, any probs would show up there.
