Hi LRM, my preference would be to use the sofa and chairs combination as it gives you as much or even more seating, it's more versatile for placement in the room and gives you better traffic flow. A sectional reduces all those items and as your boys grow; instead of walking around the sofa they'll be jumping over the back of the sectional and they may also want their own space for seating as time goes by.
