Need help with kitchen accents colors

I just refaced my cabinets in a distressed black. I have black appliances and countertops are gray, silver, white and black laminate. My floors are a blonde wood. The walls are call "hi ho silver". It just looks so blah. What colors should I use to accent with and what color curtains?

Can you paint the walls?
Look for a nice curtain/fabric and pick a color from it to paint the walls.
