Oh man. That sucks. I hope both Innermost and Home Depot do the right thing.

So by Home Depot's logic, you should hire someone else to come and double check their (twice done) measure?

That is the best reason to go with a local cabinet dealer or cabinetmaker instead of box store. The box stores put all the responsibility on the homeowner. I have seen HD's countertop paperwork that homeowner's must sign ...5-7 pages long...and pretty much if anything goes wrong, its your fault. I understand a certain amount of disclosure is needed, but their contracts are written to protect themselves. On the other hand, box stores are for really intended for DIYers and if the box stores were to REALLY take responsibility of their errors, then they would have to hire more qualified people....and have a much bigger profit margin...MUCH BIGGER!

The box store's execs know they can't run tight ships in the kitchen departments .... so they make it where the vendors or the homeowners take the hit on mistakes. Awful, but the truth.

All that being said....I wouldn't worry too much...you just have to keep complaining. They usually will fix the problem.
