I agree. It's not bad at all. Just give the caning a second coat as suggested and look for fun knobs to replace the ones on there currently.

I would get rid of it altogether and place the TV on the wall giving you more space as the lounge could start to look cluttered.

By placing the lovely yellow side table and lamp in the bedroom and moving the white lampshade to the other side, away from the painting minimalises your lounge area.

The ottoman looks good, does it need the throw over it?

Looks great! The cable job is for an electrician to mount through the wall cavity, up the wall behind the tv... if you want this and if it can be done.

Again I don't think two lamps are necessary visually? The lit lamp looks great.

Put the tall lamp back in the corner and use the dark based lamp that is now in the corner on the table. I think your console looks fine - you don't have to mount your tv. Just change the knobs.

I've just noticed the lamp is a floor lamp!! i would move the table away from floor lamp.

If you wanted to change the tv stand, incorporating the wood you have in the lounge or white. I wouldn't bring another colour in. Depends very much on what you find if you decide to go furniture shopping and what it looks like visually. Black, I think would bring in too much black as the tv is already a black space up against that small wall.

Bridgetmarie- your room looks so much better! You can inexpensively hide your TV wires with this cover at the Home Depot ( but I still think your console looks just fine):

Also try to keep only 2 pillows per couch. I like your graphic gray and black ones. Take all the rest away and then see how 'clean' and modern your room looks. You can add one small one on your chair. I agree that you should take the 'throw' off the ottoman. If you use it a lot, get a small basket or attractive bin, and store the throw in it. Yes, switch the lamps. Tall one in back corner, short one nearer the clock. Yes, put the tall one back away from the side table just a bit. :)

Bridgetmarie-it's looking good! My only thought is that your end table in front of the floor lamp is a bit small and short. It should probably be 18-24" across and come to the same height as the arm of your sofa. Do you have a larger table somewhere in your house that you can put there? I like the tv on the current stand. If you wall mount it you won't have any visual weight on that side of the room to balance all the furniture on the other side.

HI -- It's not bad but I think it might look better for the room being black or another dark color or even a rich red or your accent color that your using .

Bridgetmarie-I was referring to someone's suggestion above that you remove the cabinet altogether and just wall mount the television. IMO, it needs a furniture piece under it to put some visual weight on that side of the room.

I agree that mounting the TV might look nice, maybe with some wall shelving or something of the sort. Would free up the floor space nicely and keep the room looking streamlines and clean!

Chair wouldn't work as it would have its back to the tv and generally this is not a rule of design, simple shelf or wall mounted tv stand, although the one you have replaced there now looks lovely. Loving the colours!
