I would ditch the shutters completely. I'm not sure if it's in the budget, but adding a portico would make a huge difference. Best of luck!

It's a very pretty house. The shutters on your larger two windows are much too small. Shutters should be sized in proportion to the window, so, if actually functional, they would cover the window when closed. Regarding the door, I'm wondering about black or charcoal which are both nice with brick. However, your roof appears brown-ish on my screen...is that right? I do like the pop of white trim with your brick.

@chloebud, yes the roof is called driftwood, shades of brown, tan and grey. I agree with you on the shutters, those are still the original builder grade. I wonder if black would make the brick look more orange? Afraid of it looking like a jack-O-lantern!

I'm a huge fan of classic and timeless. Sometimes, too many colors are not a good thing. In my opinion, your green shutters don't relate to anything (nor does the red/burgandy door). I would paint the door white (like your trim) and change the shutters to black or something deeper (but still relating to your roof color).

I agree, the green shutters got to go, my concern with black shutters is that it will make the brick look too orange, thus making it look like Halloweentown!

I like the idea of pulling the shutters off because of the sizing. And totally agree with the portico idea (or if that's out of budget, then replacing the lights with something more impactful). I also like the idea of a black door, and don't think it'll read as Halloween.
