Furniture layout for great room

We are moving Into a new home soon and I'm in the process of choosing new furniture and deciding on the lay out. I'm having a hard time with the layout of the room.... Suggestions? Two sofas? A sectional? Sofa and two chairs?? The TV will be going in the spot to the left of the fireplace, which is making this a little trickier for me. The dimensions of the room are 18x21. Thanks in advance!

Room is per your dimensions and furniture is to scale also. I would do 2 sofas in L shape and 2 accent chairs in front of windows. I think that 2 sofas have more options for arrangement than a sectional. End tables and lamps. I used a 10x12 rug to accommodate all the furniture. I added 2 stools at the kitchen bar.

If I have anything wrong or you want another option. Let me know. This will be enough seating for 6 and 8 in a pinch. 10 if you count the bar stools.

What are the dimensions of the room? How much seating do you need for people on a regular basis?

Hi Susan, the dimensions are 18x21. There are only two of us right now, but I'd like there to be enough seating for 6.

I have a similar room, but with a different location for the tv..You could have a sectional with the longer side facing the tv and the other side facing the windows..

What on the wall opposite the large windows? I assume you are taking photos from the 2nd level. Stairs? partial wall? Is there another opening?

Susan, I think you may have your dimensions reversed in the plan. From the photos, it looks like the fireplace wall is 21', and the window wall is 18'.

I have the window wall 21 and the FP wall 18'. Just checked. Probably won't make much difference, but I'll change them.

I thought the window wall looked a bit longer. Here it is the other way.
