So I also responded to your other post. The gray pillows look MUCH better. I don't think the rug fights with the art work as another posted. The ottoman/coffee table is working too. I think you could try moving the two chairs facing the couch then move the couch up the rug a bit. I think the carpet won't seem so large if you do that. Worth a try. :) OH and since you have a teal blue in that cabinet, plain pillows in that color would work too.

Yes the rug is too traditional for the artwork that sets a certain ambiance. I would consider a style less traditional and a bit more graphic.

I agree with gustaruyers. I'd love to see a bit more of the teal color somewhere in the room. You definitely need some color to spice up the room; it looks rather flat right now. Either put the color in artwork, or in the rug. And I agree that a more modern rug is the way to go.
