Anything you hang on that wall should have its bottom frame 5" above the sofa. The piece hanging alone should have its center point 5' above the floor. Apply this rule whatever you do.

Large art piece would be great. Can you turn the sectional to nestle on the corner and not cut the room off.

I see that your other photo has red and yellow accents so I included a possible photo with orange accents and if you are looking for a way to bring nature in there is alot of art out there that has branches and leaves and flowers. The ones shown here are 16a and 171. If you are looking for abstract art feel free to check out my profile..and I think a triptych (three panel) could work for your space.

I would get rid of fan and hang chandelier. Also get lamp for table and find another place for floor lamp

If you got a chandelier you could get a mirror like this. You wouldn't have to watch your self eat, but it would reflect the light from over the table.

Since it appears you have plenty of natural light, do keep the ceiling fan. In a small room, sometimes circulating air matters.

I lieu of art above the sofa, and since you don't have end tables and lamps, you could consider a pair of silver colored wall hung swing arm lights.

Like the idea of a live plant in the dining corner -- a snake plant could live well there and the taller the pot the taller the plant will become -- mine are nearly over 4' tall. Their blooms bring to mind honeysuckle on a thin stem.

Put your planter in a wheeled planter dolly so the plant/pot can be easily moved for cleaning that corner of your room and choose the kind with ridges rather than a flat bottom inside it in order to permit your flower pot to drain.
