Great Room Suggestions

Looking for suggestions on what to put opposite of the dining space. Opens up to the left which has sofa, and soon to arrive chairs etc facing the fire place. Need to balance out room. Was thinking a couple of small accent chairs and round table in corner by sliding door. Console of some sort next to fireplace. Any suggestions...........

I would do a grouping of several chairs....keep the space open so you can get in and out of the room easily and allow for rearranging easily if need be. An ottoman for a table. A gorgeous area rug. This rug is dark brown. I don't particularly like the style of the chairs in the pic, but just to give you an idea of the feel/furniture placement.

Just finished new construction and waiting to get all furniture in place before rugs. I am not planning an area rug under the dining table. We love the floors and do not plan to cover up except for if front of sofa and fireplace area.

Liking no color is not the same as no fabric & rugs..it is all hard surface..you see the floor before the beautiful furnishings. Add a flokati rug in the living room area for softness and texture. And in the dining area something like these http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Sakura_Area_Rug/410/
    or this http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Sakura_Area_Rug/410/

In the fireplace area several overstuffed chairs with ottoman and not small accent chairs, table & lamp and rug. Next to the fireplace I would not add another console as there is one in the dining area, but maybe fill the space with a base cabinet and shelves above for books & art. All windows need drapery panels hung high and off the sides of the windows/doors.

4 chairs with round ottoman/table in middle. Would not block doorway. Agree that neutral does not equal nothingness.

I have large more modern wing chairs in a distressed charcol leather on ordre to face the sofa. I really dont want to do overstuffed chairs by fireplace. Looking to keep this area more open as we will utilize the deck. Was thinking 2 square ottomons in front of fireplace. What should I put in corner by at the stationionary side of door. Regarding another console, I was going to choose a different piece that was open on the bottom so it did not mimic the other. I would like to use for a serving bar for our deck in summertime. Just had the measurements taken for drapery the other day. Thanks for your suggestions

What about bobbin chairs like pic #1? Or a piece that you can face either direction with extra seating with ottomans that are under a table that could be used for kids eating or adults playing cards...pic #2?

Actually have looked at bobbin chairs...like them and they are a consideration. Who makes that one?

I need a cabinet or console of some sort there for function to deck. It is the other corner, left side of sliding door.

What about a wine rack and wine refrigerator. They have some gorgeous ones with the cabinets built around them. Of course I am assuming you drink wine...lol Otherwise a beverage cart? Just throwing out some fun ideas

Also, if u want a rug that is fairly neutral, but adds a little color variation
