Exterior Trim Ideas

Would like to add some trim to add interest, richness and warmth to the house. This home is on 3 acres and we have horses in a country setting. I tend toward the farmhouse & traditional styles, but not to craftsman or over the top, detail overload. I'm thinking board/batten shutters, some window trim (not sure style), beef up the porch columns (note: we have removed the railing already). Maybe some stone veneer-but where and what style (I was thinking fieldstone or the larger rectangle stones?) Ideally, ideas my really handy DIY hubbs could do to keep costs lower.

Look up fixer upper on you tube or hgtv, they mainly do that style and you can get a lot of ideas to copy, you def need some texture your house looks too flat

I'd replace the garage doors with something more dimensional with windows and add a garage pergola above them. All the single windows upstairs and down could use functional shutters in black. Then paint the front door black too. Add a large hanging lantern on the porch and change the lights on the garage side of the house to more of a farmhouse style. Get two rail hanging planter boxes and fill them with red geraniums, or other plants that do well in your area. Hide the utility box on the front with a plant. You might try three hydrangeas left right and center of that wall, and planted out so the utility box is behind the left one. The conical cedars are a bit too formal for your home's style, IMO, but you might transplant them around to the chimney side to hide the HVAC unit.
