looking for dishwasher advice

Shock of shocks, my home warranty is going to replace the broken dishwasher. The best replacement to the one I have is the ge cafe cdt725ssfss. The repairman mentioned that kitchenaids were his top favorite. I am looking at the KDTE254ESS pro-scrub. Is it bad to get a dishwasher with only a strainer on the drain and not a food macerator? Are the drain only models comparable in 2016?

The warranty company will pay $987 towards anything I purchase. The kitchenaid will cost me $880, which I am happy with. I don't want to spend more than their limit.

What would you get/recommend? Thanks!
