Maybe a Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Fernspray Gold', 'Nana Gracilis', 'Nana Lutea' or any number of similar ones.

Could be Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Cripssii' or 'Aurea' which are faster growing than the others mentioned by tj. I personally like 'Nana Lutea' as it has a nice dense form.

be nice to know where they are ...

i like your guess... and our friends have converted to the latin to discuss cultivar options ...

Zone 6 South Central Pennsylvania. 'Nana Lutea' might be the one, I didn't want to stop in and ask, but I'm going to bite the bullet do so.

They are in the yard of a "Psychic" that does astrology readings. No offense intended to anyone, but they really skeeve me out.

Nice! Those two aren't 'Nana Lutea' but 'Nana Lutea' is a good choice because of it's nice tight golden whorls. It's a dwarf and will grow 1-6" a year. The ones in the photo have an open horizontal branching habit and are intermediate to large 6-12" a year or more. I see more conifers in your future. Happy planting =)

Garen, they are not in a spot conducive to larger trees.

If done by a landscaper, bad monkey! No banana!

If done by homeowner, well probably have them here in a few years asking how to prune them to keep them small.
