Funny! I was just thinking about this today because I put my dogs beds outside to air them out. I try to wash their beds when I give them baths. In between washings, I put them outside to air out and/or put them in the dryer for a while with a dryer sheet.

I used to spray febreeze daily but I noticed my poor little doxie would get sneezing fits, so I stopped. I've heard some breeds are smellier than others but I don't know if it's true

Ha ha, Lily! I wash the dog's bed when I think of it, which isn't often. Thanks for the reminder. I probably won't wash it, just hang on the line to air.

I wash them on the "sanitary" setting about every 8 weeks. I should do it more often, but my washer/dryer are at our house, and we're only there on weekends. Have enough laundry to drag up every week! :)

I have two sets and change them when they have a bath. If I didn't the dogs would get stinky again within a day just from the bedding. All the changed out bedding gets washed and line dried then put away in the cupboard for the next changeover.

Ya don't know need to clean until you've had a litter. Washer and Dryer running nearly continually. lol

About every two weeks I guess for her regular bed covers that she sleeps on at night. For her beds that are around the house that she only uses occasionally, probably every couple months. I can start to smell them, they get sour smelling.

I had some old bath sheets that we use to cover her two beds with (like a fitted sheet). I wash them monthly in the winter and weekly in the summer but I don't wash the cushions themselves.

I'm surprised about all the stinky comments. I wonder if our dog is stinky and we just don't smell it anymore.

We had a Lab who slept on a pad on the floor, with a blanket. When he felt the blanket needed to be washed, he would paw it off his bed, and wouldn't sleep on it! I'm guessing it was every few weeks. He had no problem laying in mud puddles, but didn't want a dirty bed. Silly dog!
