How about engineered hardwood? Choose one with a guarantee against fading AND put solar films on the windows. You'll never know they're there and they help with the fading. I also love Marmoleum flooring (fun), but have never looked into the fading issue with that product.

Thank you. I love the idea of marmoleum flooring and had not even considered it as an option. I have an indonesian hardwood (looks like walnut) in the adjoining rooms and didn't want to put an engineered floor up against it, nothing really complemented the unique wood tones.
