We have a 1920s house and I love patina and have embraced the stains, etching and nicks in the marble as showing real use and love. But these are big chips. We have big heavy pots that occasionally hit the sink edge and I don't want a broken countertop.

You can buy small corner protectors in transparent. You can then buy 2-sided tape. Cut the corner protector to the length you want and the tape and voila... works like a charm, but you have to re-do them every couple of months...

I have the same challenge from heavy cookware hitting the edge of my marble sink and have been searching for a remedy. I just ordered Wemk Transparent Table Edge Protectors from Amazon and hope it may do the trick. We shall see!

Have your sink edge re-profiled to increase the radius and decrease the chances of chipping.
