I would personally do the second layout- and instead of doing a built in pantry do a wall of pantry cabinets so that you gain more table space in the nook.

Thank you for your suggestion. The nook as enough width (15ft). though the depth from island to back wall is 11.5 feet (there would be a 3ft wide island instead of the 4ft shown).

I prefer the second layout, also with a pantry cabinet in lieu of the walk-in. I'd consider pushing the refrigerator up on the plan so it "bookends" the L-shaped counter with the oven at the other end. Also, the cooktop could be shifted more to the center of the counter so it's not directly opposite the sink.

Looks like its full of interesting possibilities! I like the flow of the second floor plan better. Cleaner. I know that you didn't ask about the office, but would you ever consider making the two interior walls that connect with the French doors full glass? Just a thought. Hope this project goes really well for you.

I vote for #2 as well. More updated & open layout.

I'd definitely prefer the 2nd option. Fewer doors, much better flow.

I like the L but I would flip the WC and the Pantry to be on the Garage wall.

The island will be well (maybe stools there ) used, less dead end corners to deal with. Maybe reduce the amount of overhead cabinets to maximize view to backyard.
