I would be happy to help if you would send/post dimensions of the space. Or if you have a floor plan with doors and windows, or post photos of all 4 walls.

The space is about 19.5 feet wide and about 25 feet long.

Will there be a TV in LR area ? If so how big? The LR area be used for what?

Not planning on putting a TV in the room, no. Thanks for the sketch, I wasn't sure how to do that, the longer walls are the opposite walls, however, so it's longer from door to door.

Do I have the windows in the right place as well as the table? Do you have any furniture in the room now? OK I'll fix that

Yes the table and windows are correct, we have a couch in the top-right corner (from your drawing), an up-right piano at the bottom right, and an entertainment center and speakers along the bottom wall.

It would be better to have a picture of the space, from several angles. That being said, look at the entire space as 3 living spaces. The SE corner would hold your piano; floor lamp and perhaps casual chair.. The SW corner for your dinging room, leaving room for a buffet or china hutch too. Add a lovely mirror that will reflect the windows and adds light to the area. The entire wall of windows (from the pathway between doorways) would serve as your living room. Put one couch centered with back of couch to the pathway, looking out the window. Add two lovely chairs on either side of the couch to create a conversation area. Keep it rather open and easy to get to. You can add 2 nice credenzas on the wall behind the two chairs that fills the wall space with artwork above.

Are the 5 windows on the north or the west wall?

Stylewise, you can go in any direction with a round foyer table in front of the door. It can hold all sorts of different accessories, and will break up the expanse and stop the eye.

Tell us, is your current sofa "floated" in the middle of the room (as in this photo), or pushed against the wall?

susan: the windows are on the north wall, yes, but only take up about half of the wall.

pcmom: the sofa isn't floated, it's up against the wall, we tried floating but it looked like it was stuck in the middle of the room and in the way of the 'flow of traffic'

Ok, this is what I came up with per your dimensions. Hope I got it right. If not tell me.

Dining table with 8x10 rug and a buffet by kitchen door.

On LR end, sofa facing front door, chairs tables. I would move piano out of window area to bottom left corner on either wall. Let me know if piano needs to be part of seating area. Entertainment unit on south wall. Chairs tables and lamps. Rug is 12x14. I put 2 bookcases/display units on northeast wall. Couple of potted plants.

I'm liking this--we'll have to give it a shot. We just moved in so the furniture is here just haven't had much luck with putting things in places that made sense--we set this room up 10 different ways it feels like! Ha!

We'll have to see how the couch feels there in the middle like that, it felt like it was competing with the walk-flow, but maybe more away from both doors it will work.

You have a large space, but you don't want all the furniture lined up against the walls. Not contusive for a conversation area.

You could also move piano up to upper rt corner and have another cabinet for wine and drink serving. (bar area) in lower left corner.

I doubt that many people entering the house will be walking straight though to the kitchen. Is that the door that the family uses also or just guests? There is plenty of room behind the chairs for a pathway to the kitchen door. No it's not a straight shot though the room.
